Metro Vancouver has among North America’s largest sex worker populations. In addition to the many barriers to exiting sex work, there is a lack of services for sex workers who wish to transition to other employment.
Funded by the City of Vancouver, this 8-week photo-based workshop series starts October 12 and ends November 30, with a special event the evening of Monday, December 17. Participants must be available for the whole workshop series.
The Resistance Project is facilitated by local photographer Jackie Dives (http://jackiedives.com) who will work with participants to tap into their photographic voice to counter stigma, reaffirm agency and resist mainstream narratives that contribute to the stigma that sex workers experience. No previous photography experience is required. PACE Society is located at 148 W. Hastings St. in Vancouver. Contact Caroline at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
